experimentation with ink and water

Here are some shots from my latest Digital Media project that I thought were kind of cool. I basically filled a glass bottle with water and added a drop or two of ink. Then I just took pictures as the ink diffused in the water. I loved watching this process; the lines and shapes of the ink are beautiful. I had trouble focusing my camera sometimes because the glass itself was obstructing the view of the ink, though.
I've also included a few of the scanned ink/water images that I took before taking photos. I got some cool results this way, too, but I couldn't use these images for the project because I couldn't make them larger without them getting grainy/pixely.
